eternally sulk
in landfills, in piles like rank, toxic mulch.
it sits and it leaks 'till it poisons the heart
of the air that we breathe and the water that's tart
with the tang of those pennies that bought a new start
for a couple in Omaha who thought it was smart
to toss their loose change in a well.
